2025 Expo

Thank You

Dear Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of Houston Community Media, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and supported the inaugural HCoM Conference, Expo & Awards on Tuesday, July 8th at the United Way. Your presence—over 200 strong, with 45 media vendor booths—made this event not just a gathering, but a milestone for our entire sector.

For months (and for some of us, years), we worked to bring together a collective group of media professionals and advocates, believing that our work is stronger together. The energy and excitement in the room proved that belief true. Many attendees shared, “I never knew there were so many!”—a testament to the vibrant, diverse, and significant presence our community holds in journalism and communications.

This event put our sector on the map in a way that only coming together in person could achieve. We saw new connections spark, from potential partnerships, to generous offers of support from community leaders and businesses. These are threads we look forward to following up on, as we continue to grow and amplify our collective voice.

We are grateful for your enthusiasm, your engagement, and your willingness to experience something new. Thank you for helping us launch HCoM as a vital force in Houston’s media landscape. We can’t wait to see what we build together next.

With appreciation,
Houston Community Media
