Houston is set to host a groundbreaking new celebration blending art, activism, and community like never before. The Movement Festival (TMF), an inaugural four-day event powered by the nonprofit KDITC (Kay Davis In The Community), will take place May 22–25, 2025, at Tom Bass Regional Park and various locations across the city.
The festival’s roots are deeply personal and profoundly powerful—born in response to the global reckoning after the death of Houston’s own George Floyd. TMF aims to transform pain into purpose by bringing together voices, visions, and talents from across the cultural spectrum. It’s not just a festival—it’s a movement.
More Than Just a Festival
“The Movement Festival is about creating space to reflect, uplift, and unite,” says Dannette Davis, founder of KDITC. “Through powerful storytelling, culture, and community, we’re bringing people together to continue the movement toward equality, creativity, and healing.”
From political forums and soulful music to dance battles and art installations, TMF is where justice meets joy.
